About Vered Salon
What does Vered Salon specialize in?
Hair extensions. Specifically, hair extensions for fine and thin hair.
Vered Salon has been a single-specialty practice since 2001. While the salon also offers custom color services, blowouts, keratin treatments, and discreet solutions for hair loss and thinning, hair extensions are the focus — and the work Vered is most known for in West Hollywood, internationally through her celebrity client work, and in trade publications like Modern Salon and Beauty Launchpad.
Who performs the services at Vered Salon?
Vered Valensi performs every consultation, installation, color service, and maintenance appointment personally. There are no assistants performing extension work. There are no hand-offs. This has been the standard since 2001 — and it's the standard her A-list clients have always paid for.
What certifications does Vered hold?
Vered is certified by Great Lengths, Hairdreams, and Dream Catchers — the three most prestigious hair extension brands in the world. This combination of certifications is rare. Most extension stylists are trained in only one brand or method. Holding all three allows Vered to recommend the right method for each individual client rather than defaulting to whatever she was trained on.
Where is Vered Salon located?
Vered Salon is at 8539 W. Sunset Blvd, Suite 17 in the Sunset Collection Plaza — on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, between Sunset Plaza and the Chateau Marmont. Underground parking is included. The salon is private and by appointment only.
About Hair Extensions
How do I know which hair extension method is right for me?
You don't need to know yet. That's what the free consultation is for.
Vered offers seven different methods: K-Tip, Hand-Tied Wefts, Tape-In, Microlink (I-Tip), V-Light, Nano Bond, and Slavic Hair Extensions. The right method for you depends on your hair type, density, scalp sensitivity, lifestyle, and goals. At your consultation, Vered assesses all of these factors and recommends the method that will work best for you specifically — or tells you honestly if extensions aren't the right choice right now.
Is my hair too thin or too fine for extensions?
Probably not.
Fine and thin hair can absolutely support beautiful, natural-looking extensions when the right method is used and the application is done correctly. Vered specializes in fine-hair installs and has been doing them since 2001. Most clients who have been told "no" elsewhere can actually be helped — the issue is usually that the previous stylist was trained in only one method, and that method wasn't right for their hair.
The honest exception: If your hair is severely damaged or experiencing active loss, extensions may need to wait. Vered will tell you this directly at your consultation if that's the case.
Will extensions damage my natural hair?
Not when applied correctly.
Damage from extensions almost always comes from one of three things: an inappropriate method for the client's hair type, improper application that puts too much tension on natural strands, or improper removal that breaks rather than dissolves the bond.
Vered's approach prioritizes the health of your natural hair above everything else — including turning away clients whose hair needs recovery time before extensions can be safely installed. This is part of why repeat clients have stayed with Vered for over a decade.
How long do hair extensions last?
It depends on the method:
K-Tip extensions: 4-6 months before removal
Hand-Tied Wefts: 8-10 weeks between maintenance appointments
Tape-In: 6-8 weeks between move-ups
Microlink (I-Tip): 3-4 months
V-Light: 4-6 months
Nano Bond: 4-6 months
With premium single-donor Slavic hair and proper home care, the hair itself can often be reused for 12-18 months total. Cheaper commercial hair lasts a fraction of this time — which is why Vered Salon uses premium Slavic hair as the standard.
Pricing, Booking, and the Free Consultation
How much do hair extensions cost at Vered Salon?
Honest answer: It depends on three things.
The amount of hair you need. The method. And the quality of the hair itself.
Most full installations at Vered Salon range from $2,000 to $5,000+. Color services and corrective work add to this. Maintenance appointments are typically $300-$800 depending on what's needed.
At your free consultation, Vered will give you a specific estimate based on your hair and your goals — no surprises, no pressure, no upselling.
What is a free consultation?
A private, one-on-one appointment with Vered. No pressure, no commitment.
Vered will:
- Assess your hair density, texture, and condition
- Discuss your goals and lifestyle
- Recommend the right method (or tell you honestly if extensions aren't the right choice right now)
- Explain pricing transparently
- Answer every question
Most consultations last 30-45 minutes. There is no fee, and you leave with a clear understanding of what's possible for your hair.
How do I book an appointment?
The fastest ways:
Call (310) 659-3030
Email hair@veredsalon.com
Book online at veredsalon.com
Vered Salon is open Monday through Sunday, 8 AM to 8 PM, by appointment only.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Because every appointment is one-on-one with Vered, last-minute cancellations create gaps that are difficult to fill — which is why a cancellation fee applies for cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice. Specific fees are explained at the time of booking.
Do you accept Afterpay or payment plans?
Yes. Afterpay is available for installations and major services. We also accept all major credit cards and offer flexible payment options for repeat clients. Specifics can be discussed at your consultation.
Before and After Your Appointment
How should I prepare for my extension appointment?
Less than you might think — because most of the prep happens at the salon.
The night before or morning of your appointment, wash your hair thoroughly with your regular shampoo. Do not apply leave-in conditioner, oils, hair masks, or styling products afterward. Your hair and scalp need to be completely clean and product-free for the extensions to bond properly.
When you arrive, I do a clarifying wash at the salon to remove any residual buildup from shampoo, conditioner, water minerals, or daily product use. This is a critical step — any oil or residue between the bond and your natural hair will cause the install to fail. For K-Tip and tape-in extensions especially, the hair has to be 100% clean for the bond to hold.
Plan for a long appointment: most full installations take 4-8 hours. Bring something to do — a book, headphones, work, a podcast. Food and beverages are provided.
How do I care for my extensions at home?
Every client receives a detailed home-care guide after their installation, customized to their specific method and hair type. The basics:
Use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner
Brush gently with a proper extension brush, starting from the ends
Avoid putting conditioner directly on the bonds
Sleep with hair tied loosely in a low ponytail or braid
Avoid soaking the bonds in oil-based products
Heat protect before any heat styling
Quality extensions cared for properly will look as good in month four as they did on day one.
Can I swim, work out, and live my life normally with extensions?
Yes. Extensions are designed to be lived in.
Swimming is fine — chlorine and saltwater should be rinsed out thoroughly afterward. Working out is fine — sweat doesn't damage extensions if hair is washed regularly. Sleeping, traveling, dating, parenting — none of this is restricted. The point of premium extensions is that they integrate completely into your life, not the other way around.
Bridal, Hair Loss & Other Services
Do you offer bridal hair extension services?
Yes. Bridal hair extensions are a specialty.
Most brides book their consultation 3-6 months before the wedding and their installation 2-4 weeks before the event. This timing allows the extensions to "settle in" and gives time for any final styling adjustments. We can also accommodate bridal parties when scheduling allows.
Can extensions help with hair loss or thinning?
Sometimes. It depends on the cause and severity of the hair loss.
For mild-to-moderate thinning, V-Light density fill extensions can add discreet volume without putting stress on the existing hair. For postpartum hair loss, specialized methods are designed for sensitive scalps and recovering follicles. For more significant hair loss, a custom hair topper may be the better solution.
At your consultation, Vered will assess your specific situation and recommend the right approach — including referring you to a trichologist or dermatologist if the underlying cause needs medical attention first.
Do you offer color services without extensions?
Yes. Balayage, highlights, color correction, glosses, keratin smoothing, and blowouts are all available as standalone services. Many longtime extension clients also book color appointments to maintain their look between installations.
